Just Arrived......The special issue of the Journal of Stained Glass, published by British Society Master Glass Painters...

it is a documentary of the now closed studio of Lowndes and Drury....all artists who worked with/for this studio have a brief biography, and then there is a list of all the artists and where their stained glass work is located......the ones that interested me were thos whose work is in the United States.....many mentions of Frederick Cole who has many windows here in Michigan......also mentioned with US windows are William Glasby and his daughter Barbara....and Henry Holiday......mention of windows in Atlanta, Peachtree Christian Church

It's my understanding that Lowndes and Drury started as a fabrication studio that other artists could hire to build their commissions.

from the Glass House Special Issue....."L and D Glass House was a remarkable innovation in the world of British stained glass. It was also one of the most successful practical initiatives inspired by the Arts and Crafts Movement. The custom built studios and workshops provided fully equipped facilities for independent artists, assisted by a team of skilled craftsmen, to design and make their own commissions".
