The unfortunate situation at Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh has lead to many TV interviews being conducted, with the exterior of faceted glass windows in view....Kirk Weaver suggested I contact Hunt Stained Glass, and Celeste responded that indeed, the windows were designed by her father, Nick Parrendo.....initally they are saying the building will be demolished, but perhaps some/all of the windows can be saved for the congregation to use in another building.

What a conundrum.

I understand the need to exit and demolish what became a place of evil.

On the other hand it would be nice to preserve the windows. But are the windows part of the fabric of the building as Robert Sowers would maintain( especially since they are dalle de verre) or are they separate works of art transferrable as any other work of art in the synagogue.

What to do with them.
Reinstall in a new building as legacy and heritage of the past or would the reminder be too painful.

I guess only the congregation is qualified to decide.
