Where else can you see a world class art museum, take in a major league baseball game (Detroit vs. Toronto), visit a foreign county (bring your passport), take an elevated street tour of a major city for 50 cents, see medieval stained glass windows in a church, experience Motown Museum, ride a glass elevator up 73 floors, visit an auto plant, stay in a combo hotel-casino, walk under polar bears, walk through an 80-acre time machine, ….and more.

Detroit’s Cultural Center will be a highlight of the 2010 conference, with a visit and lunch at Cathedral of St. Paul (http://museum.msu.edu/museum/msgc/feb09.html), and then walk to see stained glass at the nearby Charles Wright Museum of African American History, Detroit Public Library, the Tiffany window at the Beecher House (old mansion)and end the day with significant time at the magnificent Detroit Institute of Art.  Of course, there will be conference speakers, an AGG member exhibit, good food, Whitney Scholarship silent/live auction, meeting new and old friends, and a Monday bus tour of contemporary glass installations in metro Detroit.

Visit the AGG website http://www.americanglassguild.org/   for conference and hotel registration, workshop information, and other group activities.
