On ebay, the plain ones can be had for $4 or less; the ones with pressed designs can run to $45 each (seldom higher). The key is to be patient and watch over a period of time. You won't get a bargain there without some sort of investment in time. Additionally, finding them without scratches may necessitate buying mixed lots to cherry pick for the best.

How many do you want/need? Could you mix styles since the plain ones are so much more abundant and cheaper? Are there styles besides the pinwheel you'd consider like teardrops which don't have a design pressed onto the back?

PS: Larry Zdgoda may have some thoughts on this topic.

John Abbot from our studio has Luxfer tiles. Call him at Arclight Glass (216)533-4623. He lives on the west side too! Also- we have a good library if you would like to so some research on religious symbolism...nothing like looking in your own backyard!
