I have restored church windows for many decades and have never run across this particular pivot on a steel vent window. I could use some direction of extracting these from their frames without removing the frame.
The church is located in central Illinois. It is a massive art deco structure with large thick steel vent operators. These are not the typical lift out operators.
The pivot is a hub covering what appears to be floating curved metal pieces on either side of the frame acting as the inner hub. It is much like a car break drum shape approximately 2" in diameter. There is a thick metal tab coming off the top and bottom with rivet like fasteners connecting it to the operator that have been peened over on the inside.
The frames have been cemented deep into the wall on the inside and thick brick on the outside. To remove the whole vent frame would mean major reconstruction of the cement and plaster on the inside wall.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
