I just finished an interesting project. In 1961 an artist from the Philippines named Mamansala http://www.kulay-diwa.com/thirteen_moderns/vicente_manansala got a US government grant to study stained glass at The Greenland Studio in NYC. Flash forward about 50 years and my old boss Mel Greenland shows up in my shop with a Mamansala painting from 1961 and declares that he is going to finally make it into a window. Well, it never happened, so now after 57 years, I turned the painting into a panel. To get the subtle colors I needed I had to plate every piece of Lamberts glass. Then I discovered that the colors were to light, so I plated the entire back with a translucent white. For a total of three plate layers.
