close ups of some of the medieval windows at Canterbury Cathedral, in the SE thumb of England....

https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/alphege-windows

Some years ago I went for a stained glass conference in England, and the group did go to Canterbury to see the Cathedral, as well as a couple of churches I think in Ramsgate......look at the map for this.......one of my huge fauxpaus (sp?) was pointing to the land that was visible across the water and asking what island that was.......oh gosh, when someone said that is FRANCE, I was floored.......it quickly puts into perspective the situations of World War II and I will be forever grateful I was fortunate to have been there
