To my friends, colleagues, and patrons,
I am deeply sorry to announce that I have decided to leave my position as an instructor and Stained Glass Department Head at Bryn Athyn College. After 10 years spent developing and nurturing the stained glass department within the Building Arts Program, it has become clear that the vision I had for the program does not match the goals of the college. While they have offered to support me and continue my part-time teaching position, they have chosen not to renew the contract of the Program Director, Dr. Stephen Hartley. This means that the Building Arts Program will no longer have the full-time support and oversight of a faculty colleague connected to the Building Arts Field. I do not agree that this decision is in the best interest of my students, nor will the resulting diminished program serve the needs of the industry it was developed to address. It is, therefore, with a heavy heart and a feeling of great personal loss that I withdraw my support from the Building Arts Program at Bryn Athyn College. Effective immediately, I can no longer be reached at Kenneth.leap@brynathyn.edu Please direct all correspondence to my studio account paintedwindow@comcast.net. Any communication regarding the Stained Glass Program at Bryn Athyn College should now be directed to jonathan.kline@brynathyn.edu. Professor Kline is the Head of the Fine Arts Department and is now directing the Building Arts Program.
Respectfully submitted,
J. Kenneth Leap
