New Expanded Edition of the Biographical Index Available for Purchase
Robert O. Jones has worked tirelessly since the original publication of the 2002 Biographical Index to expand the information available included in this unique resource. This expanded second edition builds upon the first edition by adding to many existing entries and adding many more. This edition includes a few photographs, an appendix of "Women in Stained Glass," and an extended bibliography. The appendix of women is intended to assist in locating them within the index.
The Biographical Index broadly defines the history of stained glass in the United States in terms of the people and studios that practiced the trade. The entries date from the Colonial Period to approximately 50 years ago. This publication is meant to be a starting point for additional research, and an outline upon which primary source studies can be attached hence the special attention paid to the bibliography and index sections.
As with the first edition, this is meant to be an ever expanding resource and Robert Jones hopes that the entire stained glass community will consider submitting comments and suggestions when constructive new sources are found.
The new edition can be found with the other Resource Guides in the Online Store at and purchased through the Stained Glass Association of America for $22.95 plus shipping and handling.
