Introducing The American Glass Guild Auction Calender for 2012

Another round of thanks goes to the American Glass Guild membership and
glass community for making our annual auction such a tremendous success.
From the generosity of auction attendees, and those who donated, we raised
over $21,000 this past year for the American Glass Guild scholarship and
educational efforts. As a means of acknowledging this year's event, we
created this calendar featuring artwork donated to the AGG Auction.
The calender also includes important deadlines and event information
related to the American Glass Guild. They make great gifts!

Seeing Rona on the cover of the calendar gives me an idea....maybe we should make one of those nude fundraising calendars like the firefighters do....
The AGG: Bodies of Work.
What do you think???

It begs the question, do we call it "A Piece of Glass"?

One hot summer day, long ago, Dick and I were working in my shop with our shirts off, an olfactory challenge to most. My daughter who also worked with us and managed to brave it, in a lighter moment suggested we make a calendar called The Topless Men of Stained Glass. But I guess it is too late For Dick now.

But wee still got John Peatral and Crosby Willet.

Whada ya think.

It was CZ's idea. I think he should grace the cover. I'll bet I can dig an old pair of Hawaiian trunks out of the attic. And he could wear his red tie from Asheville. ...... or Patrick could do it in his bow tie and plaid shorts.

You never saw Dick, and I sweaty, and topless. You might have smelled us if you were around in the 60s and 70s when we did our stand up Liturgical road act. Any way it was my daughter Tracy's idea, as a joke, But if I can help I still have my old Fire Island Bikini bathing suit, bottom, was topless way back then. So let the good timez roll.

On the cover Dick is gone,I am last apprentice. I guess.

No it was Tracy Lawrence's idea, she was doing one of
her stand up routines on a bus trip to Falling Water.
The trip was arranged by Kirk Weaver for my X wife Jonelle
who chose not to attend. So Tracy went with me so it wouldn't
look so bad. Dick and Vicki were also there and on the bus
trip out, at a rest stop Tracy was doing a little impromptu
entertaining, mostly for Dicks benefit, she loved to break
Dick up. He had been working on a window with me all that
month out back in my studio. It was hot and we were working
with our shirts off, (not Tracy) she remarked that if the world
could see that it would stop buying stained glass, any it killed
Dick and every body else who heard it, and lightened up the bus
trip embarrassment for me. No, Jonelle! I think in the end Dick
was getting serious about it, he like Tracy was an actor at hart
and could move an audience. It never happened.

The first one of those calendars - the one the film was based on - was created by women from the Yorkshire Womens Institute, just up the road from where we used to live. But I'm sure I used to have a poster from an American glass company with loads of rugged glass blowers and some sort of strap line about "our glass making machine".
Mebbe we could do a stained glass making machine with people holding stained glass tools - Mary gazing pensively past her wheel, Vic - arms crossed over his Hawaiian shirt - clenching a putty knife purposefully, Ken caressing a badger suggestively...
